Astute Educational Services has over a decade of high-quality teaching record that provides to the local suburbia high standard public, private and select entry schooling needs. We provide expert educational guidance, support and tutoring for students in all levels of primary and secondary Science and Mathematics disciplines.
Our staff are highly motivated and dedicated to exceptional skills to cater to the varied needs of students.
The focus of training is to provide skill sets needed to be an independent learner. The teaching and learning styles are delivered based on individual learner needs drawing connections to school curriculum, home learning and real-life experiences. Student life passions and career needs are continuously assessed and relevant support to the transition of university academic life is provided at an individual level. You can expect continued support on a daily basis with blended learning which includes online and face-to-face sessions tailored to individual specific needs. Class size is capped at 6 students to enable individualised learning.
I am a fully registered Mathematics Teacher with the VIT and have an up to date Working with Children Check. I am also a registered tutor with the Australian Tutoring Association. The tutoring service is a registered business with the Australian Government Business Register, Trading under "Astute Educational Services" . ABN 53 563 356 348.
.I provide the skills to develop understanding and the application of this understanding to learning.
I have a comprehensive knowledge of the VCE Mathematics and High School Mathematics (7 to 12). My tutoring service includes an online component of daily work to enhance skills developed in the calss. The daily component consists of a 10-minute online program of work individually tailored to meet the learning needs of the student. I believe that "mathematics is not a spectator sport" (George Polya), and as such my students are expected to work on learning materials provided. Accurate calculator usage is another important part of mathematics. I do not provide calculators for use in class and I expect my students to bring their own calculators to class.
I also provide Exams preparation for Selective and Scholarship exams. This includes skills required in the following areas:
Numerical Reasoning, Mathematical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Creative Writing and Persuasive Writing.
